Q: Are the costs for all destinations really from 2p to 35p per minute?
A: Yes, your calls will be charged at the appropriate rate for your access number from a BT or cable landline. Please note that other service providers may charge a higher rate. (Telewest and other cable service providers do charge the same rate - but please confirm this with your service provider.)

Q: Where can I make calls from?
A: You may use this service from any UK landline. Please note that this price can only be guaranteed from a BT landline, calls from other providers maybe charged at a higher rate.

Q: How can I make calls from landlines other than my own?
A: Using a BT Chargecard you can call from virtually any fixed phone line and pay for the calls later, either on your business or home telephone account, or your credit card. This service is NOT restricted to BT customers only.

Q: Why should I use the Akoma International calling service and not my landline?
A: International calls from BT are generally billed at more than twice the rate provided by Akoma International.

Q: Why should I not use a calling card?
A: Calling cards are often unreliable; they have various hidden charges and do not offer the flexibility of the Akoma International calling service. Note that Akoma International's prices are particularly competitive as all calls are charged second by second, and prices are inclusive of VAT. From 2003, all calling cards will be subject to a VAT charge at point of sale..

Q: Do I have to pay any other charges apart from the cost of the call?
A: No, you only have to pay the advertised cost of the call on a per second basis. There are absolutely NO HIDDEN CHARGES.

Q: How are the calls charged?
A: Calls are charged from the moment you hear the voice prompt. You will be charged even if your destination number is engaged or unobtainable. However, this charge will be by the second and is minimal.

Q: Can I pass on this number to a friend or a member of my family?
A: Yes, there is only one access number for each price band. This number can be used by friends, family and colleagues and calls will be charged to their landline telephone bill - not yours.

Q: How do I pay for my calls?
A: The cost of each call will appear automatically on your next quarterly or monthly phone bill or chargecard.

Q: Can I really call anywhere in the world from 2p per minute?
A: Not quite, you can call most countries in the world. There are just a few, which are not covered by this offer.

Q: I am having problems getting connected to your service, what shall I do?
A: Call 08700 056 561

Q:Is this service regulated?
A: The Akoma International calling service is regulated by OFCOM and ICSTIS and provided by Akoma International

Akoma International can't guarantee a 100% connection rate. However, our promise is to provide a connection success rate that is among the highest in the industry
